Ryal Wun - Making Tutorials Better
Students of public international law face challenges in essay writing and presenting their work during tutorials. Such essays are intended to prepare students for exams at the end of the course. The challenges faced by students include language ability, expectations of written style and content, and participation during tutorials. Using Kolb’s Learning Cycle, the students’ experiences (through feedback), peer dialogue and the tutor’s personal reflection are surfaced and analysed. Long and short-term solutions are then suggested for implementation in order to provide a more meaningful learning experience.
