• Welcome

Welcome to teaching at Oxford Brookes University. This site is here to help you engage with a short, flippable/blended workshop introducing current themes in learning and teaching. Please register and enrol on this site. It is open to anyone

    • This site is not hard wired to the Brookes ID system. People sometimes use this site before they start at Brookes; some people work at other institutions. Even if you do have a main Brookes account, e-mail, etc, you will need to create an account manually on this site. It only takes a moment! Thank you.

When you have done this you can post comments in the site forum.

We look forward to meeting you.

    • Aims and Outcomes

The aim of this site is to introduce you to fundamental principles and  topics of current interest in learning and teaching in higher education (HE) and to communicate an ethos about teaching at Brookes. The site also aims to provide you with an opportunity to discuss your own upcoming teaching, to engage with other teachers, and to provide skills, resources and “tips and tricks” to develop your teaching. The site will introduce professional development opportunities and pathways for lecturers and others who facilitate students’ learning at Brookes and higher education more widely.

This site will help you to:

      • plan and facilitate an interactive, participatory ("flipped") seminar session
      • use active learning approaches to foster dialogue with and between your students
      • relate your teaching sessions to the wider context of the module and course within which they are located taking particular account of the assessment scheme
      • reflect on your teaching in a professional community of practice.
